University of Saskatchewan Museum of Antiquities

The Museum of Antiquities features a collection of Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Near Eastern sculpture in full-scale replica including the Charioteer of Delphi, friezes of the Parthenon, the Venus de Milo and other famous and intriguing works, as well as original ancient artifacts and Roman coinage.

Hayward China Museum

Hayward Fine China Museum

The Hayward Fine China Museum exhibits showcase Hayward & Warwick's prominent role in this long established Saint John industry. Hayward & Warwick is the oldest family owned business in Saint John.

The museum, located in their retail store at 85 Princess Street, will highlight the story of the manufacturing and retailing of earthenware, housewares and fine china from 1785 to present. William Warwick started his business on Prince William Street in 1853 and in 1855 sold his china and glassware business to his nephew W.H. Hayward. The families retained a business relationship until the 1920s.

The museum will also exhibit souvenir china, designed specifically for the tourist market at the turn of the 20th century. Hayward & Warwick plan to capitalize on the growing cruise ship market by attracting those passengers with an interest in collecting china, one of North America's top hobbies.

An interesting component of the exhibit will show the different shipping modes in which china was shipped to Saint John. This includes a straw-filled woven ash crate, a hogshead barrel, to the insulated cardboard boxes of today. China stored in native-made baskets will hang from the ceiling, as it was less than three decades ago.

The museum will also highlight the story of the Foley Pottery, which has its roots with William Warwick's Courtenay Bay pottery. In 1964 the pottery relocated to Labelle, Quebec where it continued as the Canuk Pottery. Many will remember Fen Foley's pottery in his home on Bayside Drive.

St. George's Heritage Museum

SGHM is located in the 127 year old St. George's Church Building, overlooking the historic community of Brigus. Designed in the Gothic Revival style, St. George's has a strongly framed, open-timberwork ceiling and elaborate stained glass windows. The Museum, which contains many religious artifacts covering the churches history is housed in St. George's. This old church is also the site of local theatrical and musical performances.

Centre d'interprétation et de recherche philatélique du Canada

Fondé en 1988, le CIRPC est un centre de recherche sur le timbre canadien disposant de collections et d'artefacts reliés à la philatélie. Son mandat vise la conservation, la diffusion et l'éducation de ses collections .

Heritage Farm & Village

The Saskatchewan Western Development Museum of social and economic history for the province of Saskatchewan, it is a network of four exhibit branches in the cities of Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon, Yorkton, with a curatorial centre in Saskatoon; the WDM at North Battleford tells the Story of Agriculture at its Heritage Farm & Village

Museum Strathroy-Caradoc

Museum Strathroy-Caradoc has relocated to the downtown core of Strathroy - after over 34 years in its former location on Oxford Street - to better serve the needs and interests of the Strathroy-Caradoc community. This exciting redevelopment project has involved both new construction and renovations to integrate the Museum with the Strathroy Public Library and Art Gallery at 34 Frank Street, Strathroy.

The Museum gallery features rotating exhibitions from the museum collection, as well as visiting exhibitions from Museums accross the country. Opening in Febraury of 2007, the new Museum Strathroy-Caradoc promises to be an engaging, ever-changing adventure into the past, present and future!

Muséocabinet

Le Muséocabinet est né d'une fusion entre santé et culture. Pour mettre en valeur un exemplaire rare du patrimoine architectural du milieu du 20e siècle, on installe en 2001 le cabinet d'un médecin de famille dans un espace de diffusion culturelle. La résidence, sise à l'entrée du domaine Parent à Saint-Jérôme, s'ouvre sur rendez-vous aux patients-visiteurs qui y consultent un professionnel de la santé tout en bénéficiant des expositions qui s'y trouvent. On y interprète des sujets relatifs au bâtiment lui-même, son histoire, son quartier, le mode de vie de ses contemporains ou on y installe des oeuvres sélectionnées parmi le riche patrimoine artistique du siècle, disponibles dans le réseau muséal. À l'extérieur, les lignes épurées de la construction érigée en 1959-1960 épousent la pente du terrain et rappellent l'esprit de l'oeuvre architecturale de Frank Lloyd Wright. Trois générations d'une même famille y résidèrent simultanément durant quarante ans, préfigurant l'engouement d'aujourd'hui pour la maison «intergénérationnelle». Cuisine au design d'origine intact, objets des années 1950 et 1960 ainsi que photographies et films s'échelonnant sur ces décennies composent en partie les collections conservées au Muséocabinet.

Niagara Historical Museum

The Niagara Historical Society & Museum has been collecting the history of Niagara-on-the-Lake for over 100 years. The Museum contains a very important collection of early Canadiana (1780s - 1890s)

Centre socioculturel Manoir Le Boutillier inc.

Le Manoir Le Boutillier est un Lieu historiique national du canada et un Monument historique classé.Le propriétaire M. John Le Boutillier a monté un empire dans le commerce de la morue salée-séchée, construite dans les années 1850-1860, elle a été à la fois poste de pêche, résidence du gérant, magasin général et demeure des engagés. Présentement elle est un lieu d'interprétation de cette histoire.

Musée Sturgeon River

Northern Ontario's fur tradding history is brought to life at Sturgeon River House, an authentic Hudson's Bay Co. trading post site that is nestled on the shore of the Sturgeon River, 2 kilometers from Lake Nipissing. Today the 3 acre Museum site, operated by the Municipality of West Nipissing, is a major attraction featuring exhibits on its fur trading legacy and pioneers. For that nature enthusiat, a network of all-season walking trails lead to a nearby cranberry bog and a waterfowl staging area that highlight the area's natural heritage.

Debert Military Museum

The Museum is run by the Debert Military History Society.
It is committed to preserving the history of the Military presence at Debert Nova Scotia.
The Debert base which was opened at the beginning of WWII and closed in 1996 served a number of functions during its life span.
It was a Commonwealth Air Training Base, a Debarkation base, a Communication Base, a Medical Depot and the site of a Cold War “Diefenbunker”.

In its unique and authentic historical setting, the Museum celebrates the aerospace accomplishments of Canadians and the Greater Toronto Area's long association with aerospace innovation and technology.

Art Gallery of Alberta

As the province's leading institution for contemporary and historical art, the Art Gallery of Alberta boasts an impressive permanent collection of over 7000 works. From classical to contemporary periods, the extensive curatorial program introduces local, national and international audiences to a diverse scope of artistic trends. In 2009, Randal Stout's winning design for the new Gallery will re-open at Churchill Square as an 80,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility for international, Canadian and Aboriginal art, education and scholarship. In the meantime, our interim location is in the historic Bay Building at Enterprise Square in the heart of downtown Edmonton.

Surrey Museum

24,000 sq ft facility opened in October 2005. Permanent exhibits present the history of Surrey including displays of First Nations materials, Transportation, Land Clearing and Agriculture, Homelife, Celebrations, and Local Government. Changing and temporary displays present artifacts from the collections and from community lenders and travelling displays from other institutions.
Orientation Theatre presents films and videos as well as public programs. School programs, tours, summer day camps and seasonal special events are offered.
The Honey Hooser Textile collections are contained in the Museum and there is a textile studio and library that are accessible to the public.

Science World British Columbia

Science World, a self-supporting non-profit organization, stimulates positive attitudes towards science and technology in a fun interactive environment, promoting the development of a knowledge-based society in BC.

South Central Museum Association

First organized in 1979 the South Central Museum Association is a network of regional museums under the umbrella of the Museums Association of Saskatchewan. There are eleven members, all of which operate museums. The purpose of the association is to encourage regional communication and promotion of the museums and their themes as well as to improve the standards of the museums through educational programs.

Musée Laurier

LIEU HISTORIQUE NATIONAL DE LA MAISON-WILFRID-LAURIER
Le LHN de la Maion-Wilfrid-Laurier, sis au 16, rue Laurier Ouest, a ouvert ses portes en 1929. Cette résidence de style victorien, a été construite en 1876 pour l'ancien Premier Ministre du Canada sir Wilfrid Laurier. Ce dernier l'habite de façon permanente de 1876 à 1896 et par la suite de façon plus sporadique, jusqu'en 1919 année de son décès. En 1974, le bâtiment subit une importante restauration en 1975, une nouvelle facette est ajoutée par le biais d'expositions artistiques temporaires de grande renommée. Depuis juin 1996, outre l'exposition permanente consacrée au couple Laurier, l'institution présente des expositions temporaires consacrées aux thèmes et aux personnages politiques du Québec, du Canada et d'ailleurs.

PAVILLON HÔTEL DES POSTES
D'influence Second Empire avec son toit en mansarde, cette imposante structure est caractérisée par sa tour carrée et son pignon latéral. Dernier bâtiment à être autorisé sous le règne de Sir Wilfrid Laurier et propriété du ministère des Postes qui le construit en 1911, cet Hôtel des Postes, sis au 949, boul. Bois-Francs Sud, ferme ses portes en 1967. Cédé à la ville d'Arthabaska, il est par la suite revendu et converti en logements. La Société du Musée Laurier l'acquiert et en juin 1996, le "Pavillon Hôtel des Postes" est inauguré. Depuis y sont présentées des expositions artistiques qui varient au fil des saisons.

Arnprior and District Museum

The Arnprior and District Museum is housed in the former Post Office, now a Town land mark. The Museum opened in 1967 as part of the Town of Arnprior's Centennial project. It houses Native artefacts from Arnprior and its surrounding areas from as as early as 0 A.D. with exhibits looking at the infamous Archibald McNab, last Laird of the McNab Clan who imported settlers from Arnprior in Scotland in the 1820's to the lumbering Industry operatated by Alexander McDonnell, Daniel McLachlin and the Gillies Family. Along with lumbering equipment, photographs, 19th century fashipn and furnishings the Museum also houses a 1923 Fire Engine and an early 20th century General Store.

Veterans Memorial Military Museum

The only Free-Standing Military Museum in Alantic Canada. The Museum includes some fine displays of Weaponry, Clothing as well as interpretive displays of some of the main battles fought by Canadian Forces, from the Boer War to the Korean Conflict.

Cobalt Northern Ontario Mining Museum

One of the world's largest displays of native silver ore. Unique collection of mining and prospecting equipment and artifacts. Displays and exhibits highlighting the social and cultural life of the Cobalt Camp in early 1900's. Flourescent rock display. Heritage Silver Trail Tours. Silver jewellery hand-crafted at the museum.

Musée de l'Éducation

Le Musée de l'Éducation (MNE) au sein de l'Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) a comme principale mission la sauvegarde et la collecte du patrimoine éducatif et scolaire du Québec et du Canada. Le MNE vise à mettre à disposition et diffuser l'ensemble de ses ressources documentaires afin de permettre une meilleure connaissance et compréhension de l'histoire de l'éducation. Le MNE collabore avec plusieurs associations du domaine de la culture et de l'éducation. En plus de ses nombreux collaborateurs nationaux, le MNE a récemment amorcé une coopération internationale avec le Musée national de l'Éducation au sein de l'institut national de recherche pédagogique (INRP) en France.

Grist Mill at Keremeos

The Grist Mill of Keremeos was originally built by Barrington Price in 1877 as a place of business. The mill and store worked together to serve the needs of local ranchers, native people, miners and travellers on the historic Dewdney Trail.

Queens County Historical Society & Museum Inc.

Three historic site museums. Tilley House: 1786 National Historic Site marking the 1818 birthplace of Sir Samuel Leonard Tilley, Father of Confederation. Court House: 1836 Provincial Historic Site which served as the seat of County Justice and Administration for over 125 years. Anthony Flower House & Gallery: recently restored 1818 home of 19th century artist Anthony Flower. All sites offer permanent displays, changing exhibits, and special events.
