Young Canada Works (YCW), Building Careers in Heritage Internships

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) is proud to serve as a delivery organization for the YCW Building Careers in Heritage program, a component of Young Canada Works(YCW), an initiative of the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Parks Canada Agency, in support of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy.

This program is designed to help unemployed and underemployed graduates gain practical experience and enhance their skills in a career-oriented job, either in Canada or abroad. Accordingly, the program helps graduates make the transition to occupations in the heritage and arts sectors in Canada.

CHIN's involvement in this program is to support internships managed by its members. All eligibility requirements are listed on the YCW site, cited below. Among these requirements, CHIN members must ensure that intern work is related to CHIN/VMC projects or online products.

The employer application deadline for fiscal 2011-2012 to CHIN’s component of this program, has passed. Please visit this space during the winter of 2012 for application deadlines for the 2012-2013 season.
