Description: Oil painting in thick impasto of the Yukon Hotel and St. Paul's Anglican Church in the fall. Painted on panel. On back, by Ralph Burton: "Old Yukon Hotel / and Anglican Church / Dawson City, YT. / R.W. Burton / 78 Porter St. / Ottawa 14, Ont." On back, by Naomi Jackson Groves: "added Oct. 1993 / Best wishes to the Dawson City Museum / from 'the niece' / Dr. Naomi Jackson Groves, C.M." On back, by A.Y. Jackson: "A.Y.J. to N.J.G. / 1967" A.Y. Jackson's inscription is followed by a note from Naomi Jackson Groves stating: "when he moved to Kleinburg".
History of Use: This painting was given to Naomi Jackson Groves by her paternal uncle and member of the Group of Seven, A.Y. Jackson. A.Y Jackson was also the friend of Ralph Burton, and the two painted in the Yukon during the same period, in 1964.
