The Lambton Room is Lambton County's Archival and Genealogical Respository. Search our files of family records, census records, birth records (to 1912), marriage records (to 1927) and death records (to 1937). Or browse through local papers such as the Sarnia Observer from 1853 to present, the Petrolia Topic, and the Forest Standard, to see what’s been making headlines in the County. We also have corporate records, historical records, Land Registry information, historical atlases, Women’s Institute’s Records, Tweedsmuir Books, the local branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society holdings, and much more! From beginner to expert genealogist, the Lambton Room is a great resource for all!

$5 per person. All members in good standing are free. All Lambton Branch OGS members are considered members. Membership $25 per year.

Archival collections consisting of records from local families, businesses, municipalities, organizations, churches etc. Both paper and photographic collections. The Lambton Room also has a large collection of over 50 000 negatives from the Sarnia Observer.

The Lambton Room has expert staff members to assist with your research needs. The Lambton Room preserves and makes available historical archival material relating to the County's history, families, businesses and communities.
Services de recherche
On site assistance from staff with material from the archival collection. Access to microfilm records of Ontario Vital Statistics, local newspapers, Canadian Census records and church records. Staff can do research for those unable to visit at a cost of $20 per hour plus copies.

All members in good standing of the Lambton Branch OGS will be treated as Members of the Lambton Room.
