The Bengough and District Museum's artifacts date from Bengough's earliest settlers to the present. The collection includes household and domestic, agricultural, educational, local business and community groups/organizations artifacts.
A special exhibit which focusses on the history of farmer owned and operated coal mines in the Big Muddy Valley region was recently opened.

Operations: By Appointment • Seasonal

Spring Tea is held every spring.
Canada Day Heritage Celebration held July 1 yearly.
Children's Activity Days held throughout July and August.
Saskatchewan Museums Week Events.

Open: July and August: Friday-Sunday from 2pm - 5pm.
May - October: By Appointment.

Closed: Monday • Tuesday • Wednesday • Thursday

Brochures and pamplets containing local and regional interests are displayed. Local history books along with a video containing the history of Bengough are available for researchers.

Educational Programs

Early settlers relied on coal dug from the Big Muddy Valley. The museum has complied an educational program entitled "Farmer Coal Mining:1910-1950". This program will allow children to explore the history of coal mining and its impact on pioneer life.
